The Lancaster Players will hold auditions for Neil Simon’s classic comedy The Prisoner of Second Avenue, directed by Rebecca Tebbs Nunn.

 

Casting is open for two men and four women.

About the Play:  Set on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the story follows Mel Edison, a middle-aged man who suddenly loses his job after 22 years of loyal service.  As Mel struggles with unemployment during an economic recession, his marriage and sanity are tested in ways both poignant and hilariously relatable.  Simon’s Broadway hit was later adapted into the 1975 film starring Jack Lemmon and Anne Bancroft.

 

Production Details:

• Rehearsals: Begin in January

• Performances: Three weekends, starting March 6
